Sparkle Star

This tutorial was written in psp 8, but can be done in other versions.

Open a new blank image 400x400 and Flood Fill with black, Switch the Foreground colour off and set the Background colour to white. With the Preset Shape Tool, Ellipse, draw out an long ellipse:


Objects >Align>Center in Canvas, Layers>Convert to Raster Layer.

Effects>Geometric Effects>Perspective Vertical, Distortion 100 transparent checked:



Image>Flip and repeat the Perspective Vertical:

Repeat Perspective Vertical again but this time change the distortion to around 80 (you don't want it going too thin), Image>Flip and repeat perspective.
 Image>Duplicate and Image>Rotate>Free Rotate, 90 degrees, right, resize 90%:



Layers>Duplicate, Image>Rotate>Free Rotate, right, 45 degrees, resize 80% Image>Duplicate, Image>Mirror:

Close off background layer on the layer palette and Layers>Merge>Merge Visible.

Unhide the background layer, Layer>New raster Layer and drag this layer below the merged layer, above the background layer on the layer palette.

Select the Brush Tool, set the Foreground colour to white, use the default brush with these settings:


 Apply the brush on the new layer to the middle of the star to give it a glow:

Right click on the background layer on the layer palette and delete, Layers>Merge>Merge Visible, resize your star and File>Export>Picture Tube, give it a name and it's ready when you need it ;o)
