This tutorial was written in psp 8 but it can be done in other versions. You will need my Journal Block HERE (please do not share without my permission) My Mask 09 HERE An Image of your choice, i'm using the artwork of Dark Yarrow and you will need to purchase it from Dreamscape Imaging HERE. Passion Scrap Kit by Dark Yarrow HERE. Ok, Let's get started! Open the mask and minimise for now. Open a new blank image 600 x 500 pixels and flood fill with white. Open the Journal Black and copy and paste it as a new layer onto your canvas. Image> Resize by 80%, Bicubic, Resize All Layers UNchecked. Open the Passion Frame from the Passion scrap kit and copy and paste it as a new layer, Image> Resize by 80% 2 times and position it over to the right of the journal block. With the Magic Wand Tool click inside the frame, Selections> Modify> Expand by 5 pixels. Copy and paste the image of your choice as a new layer and drag this layer below the frame layer on the layer palette, resize and position it to fit inside the frame then Selections> Invert and hit delete on your keyboard. Selections> Select None. Close the visibility off of the bottom background and journal layers on the layer palette, click on any of the top layers and Layers> Merge> Merge Visible. Unhide the bottom 2 layers. Copy and paste your image again as a new layer and drag this layer below the frame layer on the layer palette, position and resize to you liking and lower the opacity to around 30 or so. With the Lasso Tool, feather 10, draw around the outside of the image you want to keep, Selections> Invert and hit delete on your keyboard to trim it:
Selections> Select None. Open the beads from the scrap kit and copy and paste as a new layer, make sure that this layer is below the frame layer on the layer palette and resize by 80% 3 times and position it to the bottom of the journal block (see mine for reference). Open the black ribbon from the scrap kit and copy and paste it as a new layer on top of the beads layer, resize by 80% 5 times and Image> Rotate> Free Rotate, Left, 25 degrees and position over the beads. Copy and paste an element of your choice over to the left corner of the journal block, I used the heart Ribbon, resize and position to your liking. Add a drop shadow to all layers except for the layer with the lowered opacity image. I used V: 2, H: 2, Opacity: 55, Blur: 5. Switch the Foreground colour off and choose a colour for the Background colour and choose some song lyrics or text of your choice (I used Evanescence, My Immortal, you can get lyrics from HERE). Type them out (create as vector) as a new layer on the top of the layer palette ( I used font Sheer Elegance HERE), rotate them to fit with the vector nodes, when you're happy with the position, Layers> Convert To Raster Layer. Open Passion Paper 5 from the scrap kit and copy and paste it as a new layer onto your camvas, and drag this layer to the bottom of the layer palette, above the white background layer. Layers> New Mask Layer> From Image, find Mask_09_Yarrow in the drop down menu and click ok:
Layers> Merge> Merge Group and lower the opacity of this layer to around 40 or so. Add the artists copyright info and your license number, watermark etc. as a new layer. Choose a colour for the foreground and background colours and type out your name and position it to your liking. I used the same Sheer Elegance font again and added the same drop shadow as I did before but changed the colour to white. Layers> Merge> Merge Visible, crop if needed, save as jpg and we're done!
